Ecuador is a country straddling the equator in South America with a diverse landscape of snow capped volcanoes, waterfalls, Amazon jungle, cloud forests, Andean high sierra, and the incredible Galápagos Islands. A large indigenous population of Quechue peoples are welcome recipients of Agua Viva’s water purification systems. In these primitive communities, home to 13 Amerindian languages including Quichua and Shuar, drinking water, bathrooms, and other government services are seldom found. The rural areas are largely forgotten and are seemingly independent of government regulations. The people are loving and generous and their sense of community is a beautiful site and very welcoming.
