CADEP is a center for people with disabilities including hearing disabilities, blind, mobility, autism, cerebral palsy, psychomotor impairment, down syndrome, microcephaly, stroke, lumbago, fractures, polytrauma and mental disabilities. Children with learning problems, intellectual disabilities, speech disabilities, developmental delays and psychological problems are also patients. All ages from babies to the elderly receive care at CADEP.
Something unique in CADEP is the blind are given the opportunity to work as masseuses. Patients needing psychology, massages or any treatment for the above can get free sessions or if they can pay, they can give a donation of Q30 ($4.00) that is very little.
People from the surrounding communities like: Guastatoya, Sanarate, San AGUSTIN Acasaguastlán, San Cristóbal acasaguastlan, El Jicaro, Morazan, San Antonio La Paz and Sansare visit CADEP from Monday to Friday to receive their therapies, treatments, medicine and sometimes even a snack.
CADEP used to buy water for 700 people and now they can produce it easily. For patients, employees, the hospital that is next to them and the rest of the local community. The employees in CADEP put their heart into everything they do and it is noticeable.
