In February, 2018, three dedicated volunteers pioneered new territory in Cuba. Our volunteers visited our new friend, Pastor Leandro, in Baitiquiri, Guantanamo, Cuba. This poor community, in the poorest state of Cuba, not far from the U. S. Guantanamo prison, has no access to clean drinking water. After four great days of hospitality and church services, Agua Viva committed to our new friends to return one day to install a water purification system. Baitiquiri is not far from the deepest part of the ocean in the Caribbean, the Yucatán Straits. Cuba has many interesting challenges: two currencies, complex government restrictions, and one of the most diverse cultures in the Americas.
